Our
birthing classes at A4 Hospital focus on building confidence and support for
our patients in preparing for labor and delivery, breastfeeding, and postnatal
care. Pregnancy is a joyful journey. We ensure to make it even more joyful by
providing our best education possible.
Attending
birthing classes at A4 Hospital creates an opportunity to share your thoughts
and eradicate fears with others who are in a similar state. These programs are
face-to-face sessions.
Our
birthing classes are designed in a flexible approach allowing busy parents to
enhance their chances of acquiring such education. It is always recommended to
book your classes when you enter into your third trimester.
The
birthing classes at A4 Hospital are often provided by our well-trained and
registered experts in birthing such as nurses, midwives, and other healthcare
professionals. Sometimes, our doulas will also train our patients in the
birthing classes.

Our Birthing Classes Overview
Session 1: Labor and Birth
Apart
from the signs of labor, our trainer focuses on educating our patients in all
aspects of labor including interventions such as episiotomy instrumental
births, and epidurals. The birth support persons are also welcome to attend
these sessions. Our trainer also discusses c-sections or cesarean births.
Session 2: Labor Management
This
session focuses on pain management and the techniques to help you relieve the
pain. Our skilled physiotherapist will join us in this session, teaching some
prenatal yoga poses to relieve back pain. Our physiotherapist will also teach
some breathing exercises to assist you during labor and delivery. And, we also
discuss some various positions that help you in labor.
Session 3: Breastfeeding
This
session focuses on the benefits of breastfeeding for both new mom and baby. We
also discuss the right position to lactate the newborn, ways to stimulate,
feeding patterns, attachment positions, and more. We also talk about the foods
that secrete more breast milk.
Session 4: Life with a Newborn Baby
This
session focuses on how to take care of the baby after going home. The topics
include sleeping positions, dressing according to the weather, hunger signals,
bathing, and so on. We also educate our new parents about how to build a
personal attachment with the baby.
During
the session, the mom-to-be patients will be given an opportunity to ask their
questions along the way.
